Mathieu Jayet-Roineau, comes from France and started dancing modern at 15. Studying repertoire by Cunningham, Trisha Brown, Nikolais, Lucinda Childs and many others gave him the chance to explore very different approaches to movement and performance. What drives him in dance is its ability to connect body and mind, to reveal oneself through expressivity and intention. Rather than perfection, I look for authenticity, presence, and precision; allowing each movement to breathe, carry intention, and open new spaces for expression within the body.

Starting this September, he’ll be teaching modern dance classes open to everyone who wants to explore movement in a playful and expressive way. The classes are designed to build strength, freedom, and expression through modern techniques. In the class, you will focus on projecting with the body, moving through space, and creating all kinds of lines and shapes with your movements. Whether you’re experienced or just curious to try, it’s a chance to connect with your body, explore the culture and history of modern dance, enjoy the joy of dancing together, and discover new ways to express yourself.
